About
Us
Allan is a tax accountant with over 30 years
accounting and over 14 years taxation experience. A Dale Carnegie
graduate, he has brought his passion for the education of small
business owners to the many workshops, keynote addresses and seminars
he has delivered since becoming self-employed. His ideas are the
result of working with individuals, entrepreneurs and micro-business
owners since 1988. Currently, he presents workshops and seminars
to various Ontario based small business support organizations,
including the Oxford Small Business Support Centre and the Saugeen
Economic Development Corporation.
Allan is a member of
The Association of Professional Accounting and Tax Consultants Inc.,
a not for profit association supporting self-employed accounting and tax professionals.
He has been a Director since 1993, and is currently serving his third two-year term as President.
He has worked on several important committees, including Seminars, Standards of Practice and Membership.
He has participated in discussions with representatives of Canada Revenue Agency on tax policy, and has
co-authored submissions to The Attorney General of Ontario and other bodies regarding amendments to Ontario's
Public Accounting legislation. Allan has presented workshops to Association members on topics ranging from
working paper preparation, Standards of Practice, protecting yourself from Errors and Omissions insurance
claims and charges under the Third Party Civil Penalty provisions of the Federal Income Tax Act.
An integral part of Allan's business is the presentation of workshops,
seminars, courses and educational CD's geared towards both those who are already in business and those
considering starting a small business. Workshop topics include taxation and compliance,
small business management issues, retirement planning and budgeting to achieve personal goals
Business Philosophy
Today's business, taxation and investment environment contains both opportunities and risks, in equal quantities.
We want to assist our clients to build and maintain their business and financial assets, while reducing unnecessary
exposure to risk. Our philosophy is defensive. We will recommend legitimate ways to produce income while reducing taxation.
We will not recommend actions we believe can lead to Canada Revenue Agency audits, yielding disallowed claims
and/or punitive interest and penalty assessments. Our workshops and seminars are geared to provide attendees with useful business
and tax ideas and information they can confidently put to immediate use in their own busy lives.
